Meet Restaurant Operator
John Tingle
John Tingle has been with Chick-fil-A since 1983. He worked for Larry
Meadows in the Asheville Mall as a manger for five years prior to moving to
Kingsport. In the April of 1988 he became the operator of the Fort Henry
Mall Chick-fil-A.
Many friendships were formed with the regular guests and avid “mall
walkers” of the Fort Henry Mall. In 1998, John had the opportunity to
become the operator or the new Stone Drive free-standing store. While the
opportunity for growth was huge, there were concerns about leaving the
“mall family”. The Kingsport community really embraced the concept of
being able to get Chick-fil-A through the drive-thru as well as dining in the
much larger free-standing store. From 1998 to 2022 business continued to
grow thanks to the supportive Kingsport community.
July 28, 2022 marked another milestone for John and Chick-fil-A in
Kingsport. The time had come for the 1998 store to be totally
reconstructed. After five long months, the new 2023 store is ready to serve
the community. Please stop in to say hello to John and the team. We have
missed our Kingsport community and look forward to reconnecting with everyone!
