Restaurant Brings Approximately 80 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
BROADVIEW, Ill. (Oct. 31, 2024) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Broadview community on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Alvaro Botero as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Broadview, marking his second restaurant in the area.
Located at 3000 Broadview Village Square, Chick-fil-A Broadview will be open for dine-in, drive-thru, curbside pick-up and third-party delivery from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The restaurant will also feature Mobile Thru, a fully dedicated lane in the drive-thru where Guests can pick up orders placed ahead of time on the Chick-fil-A App®.
The Broadview restaurant joins more than 49 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Chicago market.
Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.
In Broadview, Botero will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 80 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses, and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the Broadview community’s needs.
Originally from Cali, Colombia, Botero and his wife Alexandra immigrated to Athens, Georgia in 2000, where they established a successful food distribution business and grew their family. While living in Athens, the Boteros built a strong connection with Chick-fil-A, first as regular Guests and later through the family business. As a small business owner, Botero wanted to continue owning his own business and make a larger impact in the community, like what he saw at his family’s favorite local Chick-fil-A. In 2012, Botero decided to pursue a career at Chick-fil-A as a local Owner-Operator, leading to his selection more than 10 years ago. In 2013, he and his family relocated to the Chicago area, where Botero began operating Chick-fil-A North Riverside, which he will continue to run alongside the new restaurant. His wife Alexandra continues to serve alongside him in the business.
“Since beginning this journey, I have always dreamed of being more than just a small business owner and becoming a part of the heart of the community,” said Botero. “The passion for providing care and service to our Guests has helped the two restaurants form meaningful relationships with local businesses, schools and communities.”
Since opening Chick-fil-A North Riverside, Botero has established a strong relationship with several local schools, including a partnership with a local high school that provides students with disabilities opportunities for learning operational, social and life skills that will help them thrive both personally and professionally.
As Botero prepares to open Chick-fil-A Broadview, he looks forward to deepening the impact in the community.
“The two restaurants are more than just places to eat; they have become a cornerstone for fostering opportunity, mentorship and connection,” Botero added. “Since most of our Team Members are high school-aged, I am excited to continue offering ways for them to grow, both inside our restaurant and out in the community.”
Caring for the Broadview Community
The Chick-fil-A business is built to add positive impact beyond profit, including giving back to local communities. Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators are empowered to support the neighborhoods they serve with a key focus on hunger, education, and specific community needs.
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Greater Chicago Food Depository, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
Botero’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 30 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from over 2,200 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Broadview is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Broadview area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
