Locally Owned and Operated
As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.
In Buffalo Grove, Ordeanu will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 75 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and continuing relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Ordeanu is a first-generation American, born and raised in Chicago by his parents who immigrated from Romania. After college, he spent five years as a Spanish teacher at Mundelein High School and Maine West High School, both in communities nearby Chick-fil-A Buffalo Grove. During that time, he fell in love with Chick-fil-A and its delicious food as he and his wife Delia began visiting different restaurants across the nation. In 2010, he moved to West Palm Beach, Florida to begin his career with Chick-fil-A, where he worked with a tenured Operator, learning the business and serving guests first-hand. Prior to being selected as the Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Kildeer in 2014, Ordeanu participated in the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program, where he served as an Interim Manager in several restaurants across the country.
For nearly a decade, Ordeanu and his family have been committed to developing young leaders and supporting the community, where he is focused on giving back to youth programs and local schools. Now, they are looking forward to reaching the Buffalo Grove community and bringing that same culture of care to the new restaurant, where he will also continue to operate Chick-fil-A Kildeer.
“While Illinois is my home, my parents were immigrants, so I’m particularly passionate about creating future entrepreneurs and helping others achieve their dreams like I did,” said Ordeanu. “I’m honored for the opportunity to not only invest in my Team Members and grow leaders, but to show care for our guests at Chick-fil-A Buffalo Grove.”
Caring for the Buffalo Grove Community
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Northern Illinois Food Bank, a certified member of Feeding America, in honor of the new restaurant. Since 2020, Chick-fil-A has donated $200,000 to Feeding America in the Chicagoland area.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Buffalo Grove is recognizing 100 local educators making an impact in the local area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year. “As a former educator, I’m passionate about not only giving back to local schools, but recognizing those who are working hard every day to teach our youth, so I wanted to take a moment to recognize them for their efforts,” shared Ordeanu.
Ordeanu’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 20 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations. Chicagoland Owner/Operators have donated over 351,000 meals since April 2016, with the number continuing to grow.
Team Member Investment
Chick-fil-A Operators are committed to hiring, developing and retaining top talent and providing a positive work environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. Team Members have opportunities for flexible work hours and leadership growth, competitive pay and benefits, hands-on training and mentoring and the chance to apply for scholarships to support their continuing education. Since 2012, Chick-fil-A has awarded over 1,030 scholarships in the Chicago market, totaling over $2,173,000 to support Team Members continuing their education.
Delicious Food; Outstanding Customer Service
Chick-fil-A is known for serving customers great-tasting food made with high-quality ingredients, including the original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich. Made with a real, whole, boneless breast of chicken with no added fillers, the breaded chicken is pressure cooked in fully-refined peanut oil. Chick-fil-A was one of the first in the industry to eliminate chicken raised with antibiotics to ensure guests have an option for high-quality food on the go.
To complement the great-tasting chicken, fresh produce is delivered to Chick-fil-A restaurants up to six times a week for the best quality and flavor. The fresh ingredients are raised and grown by farmers who share the company’s elevated quality and safety standards, so guests feel good about their meal.
