Chick-fil-A Announces New Cascade Restaurant, Opening Dec. 8

Restaurant Brings Approximately 130 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Meals for a Year

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Dec. 5, 2022) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the greater Grand Rapids community on Thursday, Dec. 8. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Jamie Ochsner as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Cascade.    

Located at 5528 28th St. SE, Chick-fil-A Cascade’s multi-lane drive-thru will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Dine-in and carry-out will soon be available. Guests of Chick-fil-A Cascade can also take advantage of contactless ordering and payment through the Chick-fil-A® App. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, guests receive points on every qualifying purchase which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Cascade restaurant joins nine other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Grand Rapids market.    

Locally Owned and Operated  
As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the areas in which they serve.    

In Cascade, Ochsner will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 130 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.   

Originally from Texas, Ochsner began her journey with Chick-fil-A as a Team Member when she was a teenager and was inspired by the care the company showed to its employees and guests. Ochsner continued her growth within the restaurant industry, becoming a manager at a large restaurant chain before taking a leap of faith to become a night manager at a Chick-fil-A, encouraged by the possibility of one day operating her own location. She officially stepped into the role of Owner/Operator when she opened a restaurant in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2014 before moving to the Great Lakes state to open and operate the Grand Rapids restaurant. Alongside her twin sister and mother, who both relocated from Texas to support her business, Ochsner looks forward to expanding Chick-fil-A’s presence within the Grand Rapids community with this new restaurant in Cascade, which she’ll run in conjunction with the Beltline location.    

“I’ve been blessed to form many meaningful connections through Chick-fil-A over the years and I’m delighted to be able to introduce Chick-fil-A’s ethos of community care, delicious food and warm hospitality to new communities, such as Cascade,” said Ochsner. “I’m passionate about supporting local education and youth sports and I’m thankful for the opportunity to help young Team Members develop the skills and confidence needed to become extraordinary business leaders.”     

Caring for the Cascade Community  
In honor of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America on behalf of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Grand Rapids area to aid in the fight against hunger. Chick-fil-A Cascade is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Grand Rapids area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.
