Restaurant Brings Approximately 125 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (Nov. 2, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A^® restaurant will begin serving the North Augusta community on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Jon Dawkins as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Edgefield Road.   

Located at 1065 Edgefield Road, Chick-fil-A Edgefield Road will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:00 am to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Edgefield Road can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A^® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One^® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Chick-fil-A Edgefield Road restaurant joins 10 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Augusta market.   

Locally Owned and Operated  
As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, local Chick-fil-A Owner-Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.   

In North Augusta, Dawkins will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 125 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.   

Dawkins began his career with the restaurant company while serving as a teenage Team Member at Chick-fil-A McAlister Square Mall in Greenville, S.C. Over the next several years, he learned the ins and outs of the business, and his commitment to service helped him work his way up from team leader to the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Aiken Mall in 2001.   

Two years later, Dawkins opened his first new restaurant as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A North Augusta, which he will continue to operate. During his journey with Chick-fil-A, Dawkins met his wife Rachel, and they now have three children who are all integral parts of the family business.   

Throughout his 31-year career spanning from serving as a Team Member to an Operator, Dawkins has been committed to connecting with the community and instilling values of servant leadership in Team Members, which Dawkins looks forward to continuing at Chick-fil-A Edgefield Road.

Caring for the North Augusta Community  
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Golden Harvest Food Bank, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.  

In addition, Chick-fil-A Edgefield Road is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the North Augusta area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.   

Dawkins’ restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table^® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 23 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants.
