Restaurant celebrates with Cows Eat Free offer on opening day

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Jan. 29, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Kalamazoo community at its newest location on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at 6:30 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Max Schuler as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Gull Road.

To celebrate the restaurant opening, Mitchell and team are calling on the community to show their spots on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow attire can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.

Located at 5802 Gull Road, Chick-fil-A Gull Road will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, third-party delivery, mobile pick-up and Mobile Thru. Because Chick-fil-A restaurants are designed to serve the unique needs of each community, Chick-fil-A Gull Road will also feature a play space to serve Guests with children.

Locally Owned and Operated
“Michigan is home, and opening this restaurant is more than just a professional milestone. It’s a chance to carry on the legacy that first inspired me to join Chick-fil-A,” said Schuler. “My hope is to serve the Kalamazoo community by building a restaurant rooted in care, connection and meaningful impact.”

Hailing from Troy, Michigan, Schuler’s journey with Chick-fil-A began in 2018 as a Team Member. From the start, he was drawn to the brand’s legacy of excellence and its people-first culture. That early experience sparked a passion for hospitality and a desire to one day lead a restaurant of his own.

Now, as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Gull Road, Schuler has a vision to create a space that consistently exceeds expectations, provides meaningful opportunities and becomes a tight-knit place where people feel welcomed and cared for.

Caring for the Kalamazoo Community
Schuler is committed to giving back to the Kalamazoo community by:

  • Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Kalamazoo area to aid in the fight against hunger.
  • Creating approximately 100 jobs.
