Restaurant Creates Approximately 120 Jobs, Guests Invited to Dress in Cow Print on Opening Day for Free Entrée

KAPOLEI, Hawaiʻi (August 21, 2025) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving Guests in Kapolei on Thursday, August 28 at 6:30 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Honolulu native Nick Lovan to serve as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Kamokila.

Located at 890 Kamokila Blvd., the new restaurant brings approximately 120 jobs to the community and joins four other Chick-fil-A locations in Hawaiʻi. This locally owned and operated restaurant will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., offering dine-in, carry-out, delivery, and catering. The drive-thru will remain open until 10 p.m. Additionally, this location features the first indoor Chick-fil-A playground in Hawaiʻi.

To celebrate the opening, Guests are welcome to join the fun by dressing in cow print on opening day to receive a free entrée.

Locally Owned and Operated
“Opening Chick-fil-A Kamokila in the community where I grew and have the opportunity to make a difference is a dream come true,” Lovan said. “I’m most excited to create meaningful experiences that make every Guest, Team Member and neighbor feel like part of our ʻohana. Supporting my Team Members’ personal goals and leading with respect and compassion are deeply important to me. After serving 20 years in the Marine Corps, I truly feel prepared to lead and build something special right here at home.”

  • Lovan was born in Honolulu and raised in nearby Ewa Beach, just minutes from the new restaurant. A graduate of Moanalua High School, he served in the Hawaiʻi Air National Guard–154th Security Forces Squadron and later became an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.
  • He first discovered Chick-fil-A while stationed in Quantico, Virginia, when his wife developed a daily craving for the restaurant’s chocolate milkshakes during her pregnancy.
  • With deep roots in the West Oʻahu area — including proposing to his wife, Glenna, at a nearby beach, One’ula Beach Park — Lovan brings a passion for leadership and a sense of homecoming to Chick-fil-A Kamokila.

Cows Eat Free to Celebrate Chick-fil-A Kamokila
To celebrate the restaurant moo-ving into town, cows will eat free on opening day! Lovan and his team are inviting the community to show off their cow spots on opening day for one free entrée.

  • Since 1995, the Cows have been a beloved part of Chick-fil-A, encouraging humans to skip burgers and “Eat More Chikin” – and now it’s Kapolei’s turn to join the herd.
  • Guests dressed in cow print – whether it’s a full cow costume or a simple cow-spotted
accessory – can enjoy one free entrée* when placing an order in person inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.

Caring for the Kapolei Community
Lovan is committed to giving back to the Kapolei community by:

  • Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 35 million meals nationwide to date. Lovan’s restaurant will donate surplus food to Aloha Harvest, a local nonprofit that receives quality excess food from donors and delivers it free of charge to places that help feed people in need.
  • Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Hawaiʻi Foodbank in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the West Oahu area to aid in the fight against hunger.
