Restaurant Brings Approximately 145 Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
CAGUAS, Puerto Rico (June 10, 2025) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant is ready to serve Caguas at its newest location opening on Thursday, June 19, creating approximately 145 jobs. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Miguel “Mike” Nieves to be the local Owner-Operator of the new restaurant.
Located at Ave. Rafael Cordero, Chick-fil-A Plaza Centro will serve guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., offering drive-thru, carry-out, and third-party delivery from Uber Eats, with dine-in service available until 9:00 p.m. Designed with convenience in mind, the drive-thru features a covered, multi- lane setup to ensure a comfortable, and seamless Guest experience.

“I’ve always been passionate about leadership, mentorship and serving others, which is what drew me to Chick-fil-A in the first place,” said Nieves. “Visiting various Chick-fil-A restaurants over the years and experiencing their genuine hospitality and culture for care – along with the support of my wife - inspired me to become an Operator and create a place that makes a difference in people’s lives.”
Raised in Ft. Hood, Texas and Patillas, PR, Nieves is the son of a U.S. Army sergeant who brings over 20 years of leadership and military experience with a steady, mission-driven approach. After calling Caguas home for the past two years with his wife, Ida, he’s excited to build something meaningful for his community.

Nieves is committed to giving back to the Caguas community by recognizing 100 local heroes from Hogar Cuna San Cristóbal and the Municipio Autónomo de Caguas by providing them with free
Chick-fil-A entrées for a year. Also, he plans to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits and has helped to create over 35 million meals to date in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
