Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (Oct. 30, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Springfield community on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Mitch Fielder as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Tom Austin Highway.
Located at 3334 Tom Austin Highway, Chick-fil-A Tom Austin Highway will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Tom Austin Highway can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Tom Austin Highway restaurant joins more than 35 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Nashville market.

In Springfield, Fielder will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Chick-fil-A has long been a part of Fielder’s family, where he fondly remembers their Friday tradition of having breakfast together at their local Chick-fil-A restaurant. In 2015, he began his career with the restaurant company when he joined Chick-fil-A Windy Hill Road in Marietta, Georgia as the Director of Operations. Four years later, he was selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Dyersburg in Tennessee. As a Belmont University graduate and former Nashville resident, Fielder is excited to return to the community and serve as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Tom Austin Highway.
“To me, opening Chick-fil-A Tom Austin Highway is about more than chicken: it’s the opportunity to make an impact on our Team Members’ lives and show care to the community in a tangible way,” Fielder said. “I am passionate about helping others accomplish their dreams and achieve their goals, like I was able to, both personally and professionally.”
Caring for the Springfield Community
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Tom Austin Highway is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Springfield area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
Fielder’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 23 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
