Restaurant Brings Approximately 120 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (Nov. 13, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the University City community on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Tim Craig as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A University City.
Located at 8637 Olive Blvd., Chick-fil-A University City will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A University City can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. The University City restaurant joins more than 20 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider St. Louis market.

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.
In University City, Craig will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 120 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Craig was born and raised in St. Louis and is deeply committed to serving his hometown. Before joining Chick-fil-A, Craig served for 10 years in the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, he pursued a career in warehouse and distribution operations. His passion for service and experience in team leadership uniquely positioned him for the responsibility of owning and operating the University City restaurant. His wife, Amber, will serve as the Team Engagement Director at Chick-fil-A University City, and outside of the restaurant, the two love spending time with their six children. As a proud resident, Craig is eager to give back and support local initiatives that make St. Louis special.
“I’m grateful to have the opportunity to serve the community that raised me,” said Craig. “My vision for this restaurant is to be a pillar for our neighborhood and foster an environment where future leaders can flourish.”
Caring for the University City Community
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of the St. Louis Area Foodbank, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
In addition, Chick-fil-A University City is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the University City area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
Craig’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 23 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
