Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year

PORTLAND, Ore. (Nov. 25, 2024) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Woodburn community on Thursday, Dec. 5. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Kasi Corbett as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A I-5 at Woodburn.

Located at 300 S Woodland Ave., Chick-fil-A I-5 at Woodburn will be open for drive-thru, carry-out and delivery from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Designed for speed and efficiency, this drive-thru-only location offers added convenience to serve guests through its dual drive-thru lanes, four walk-up windows for carry-out and patio seating that fits over 20 guests.

The I-5 at Woodburn restaurant joins 10 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Portland market.

Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.

In Woodburn, Corbett will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses, and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the Woodburn community’s needs.

Raised in the close-knit town of Green Valley, California, Corbett grew up cherishing togetherness and gathering for meals with fellow neighbors. This instilled a commitment in her at a young age to always open up her home for anyone in need. Corbett went on to attend college in her home state and is proud to be the first female in her family to obtain a college degree. Eventually, she went on to hold several positions across different industries, including an accountant, public safety professional and an adjunct professor at a local community college. During her time educating students, Corbett became inspired by Chick-fil-A’s commitment to serving others and began volunteering at her local Chick-fil-A as she looked to become an Owner-Operator. Furthering her dedication to public service, Corbett actively volunteered with various non-profits as well, supporting causes like food insecurity, youth programs and senior aid. As local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A I-5 at Woodburn, Corbett looks forward to continuing her passions of giving back to the community, honoring Chick-fil-A's people-first culture and ensuring the restaurant is a safe place for Guests and Team Members alike.

“The Woodburn community has warmly welcomed my family and me, reminding me of my close-knit upbringing. I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to invest in Team Members at I-5 at Woodburn, as well as positively impact the Woodburn community,” said Corbett. “My husband and I cherish creating a welcoming home for our family, including our first grandchild. I aim to bring that same warmth to Chick-fil-A I-5 at Woodburn, making it a place where Team Members can grow through valuable life skills and families can create lasting memories over shared meals.”

Caring for the Woodburn Community
The Chick-fil-A business is built to add positive impact beyond profit, including giving back to local communities. Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators are empowered to support the neighborhoods they serve with a key focus on hunger, education, and specific community needs.

In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Portland area to aid in the fight against hunger.

Corbett’s restaurant is participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 30 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from over 2,200 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.

In addition, Chick-fil-A I-5 at Woodburn is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Woodburn area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.

Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators strive to hire, develop and retain top talent, helping future leaders optimize their skills and providing pathways for personal and professional development in a welcoming, purpose-driven environment.
