Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
BOARDMAN, Ohio (Sept. 7, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Boardman community on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Billy James as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Boardman.
Located at 480 Boardman-Canfield Road, Chick-fil-A Boardman will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Boardman can place an order for pickup or dine-in on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. Additionally, one of Chick-fil-A Boardman’s drive-thru lanes will offer Mobile Thru, which enables guests to pick-up their order in a separate lane after placing their order through the App. Chick-fil-A Boardman also plans to offer delivery in the coming months. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards.
The Boardman restaurant joins five other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Youngstown market.

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.
In Boardman, Billy will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Billy began his professional career in the healthcare industry and pivoted industries in 2018 when he was selected as the Operator of Chick-fil-A Southern Park Mall. As a native of the Boardman area, Billy is passionate about giving back to the community. Throughout his time as an Operator, he has partnered with local high schools for sports fundraisers and donated surplus food from his Southern Park Mall location to Mahoning County Society of St. Vincent de Paul through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program. When he is not working in the restaurant, he spends the remainder of his time with his wife, Amber, and their two children.
“My favorite thing about being a Chick-fil-A Operator is developing and nurturing my incredible staff and supporting my community,” Billy said. “Boardman is such a beautiful place to live, and I am lucky to call this town home. I am thrilled to open this restaurant in my hometown, where we can blend our signature hospitality with great-tasting food, and also have the opportunity to partner with local organizations to continue to help this community thrive.”
Caring for the Boardman Community
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Youngstown area to aid in the fight against hunger.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Boardman is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Boardman area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
Billy’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 20 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.
