Restaurant Adds Approximately 110 Jobs to Local Economy
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 9, 2025) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Kansas City community at its newest location on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025 at 6:30 a.m., creating approximately 110 full- and part-time jobs. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Andy Gallawa to be the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A 169 & Barry Road, marking his second restaurant in the community.
Located at 300 NW Barry Road, Chick-fil-A 169 & Barry Road will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, third-party delivery, mobile pick-up and Mobile Thru. Because Chick-fil-A restaurants are designed to serve the unique needs of each community, Chick-fil-A 169 & Barry Road will also feature a play space to serve Guests with children.

Gallawa is committed to caring for the Kansas City community by:
- Creating approximately 110 full- and part-time jobs. At his current restaurant, Chick-fil-A I-29 & Barry Road, Gallawa has supported more than 80 Remarkable Futures™ Scholarships recipients, many of whom have gone on to meaningful careers in education, healthcare, engineering and beyond.
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts in the greater Kansas City area.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits and has helped to create over 42 million meals to date with over 2,500 restaurants participating.
- Partnering with organizations like Youth Volunteer Corps, South Platte Emergency Assistance Center and local schools to meet local needs and uplift the community.
Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model drives meaningful economic growth at the local level. Each restaurant is owned and operated by a single individual — a small business owner who lives in the community, creates jobs, mentors talent and reinvests directly into the local economy. Gallawa will work in his restaurants side by side with Team Members each day.

Before becoming a local Owner-Operator in 2014, Gallawa’s journey with Chick-fil-A began as a Guest, where the warmth and kindness he experienced left a lasting impression. That early impression inspired him to pursue the path to owning his own restaurant – Chick-fil-A I-29 & Barry Road, which he will continue to lead. Over the past decade, he has cultivated a people-first culture that empowers Team Members to grow as leaders, and he looks forward to expanding that impact with the opening of his second restaurant.
