Restaurant Brings Approximately 150 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community,Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Aug. 1, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A^® restaurant will begin serving the Memphis community on Friday, Aug. 4, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Allen Arant as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Austin Peay Highway. 

Located at 3565 Austin Peay Highway, Chick-fil-A Austin Peay Highway will be open for dine-in from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., and for drive-thru and carry out from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The new restaurant will be the first in Shelby County to feature a mobile drive-thru lane. Guests of the restaurant can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A^® App or online.  When joining the Chick-fil-A One^® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Austin Peay Highway restaurant joins more than 20 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Memphis market.  

Locally Owned and Operated  
As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.  

In Memphis, Arant will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 150 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.  

Prior to joining Chick-fil-A, Arant served as an Aviation Officer in the United States Army. Long before he became an Operator, Arant was inspired by his family’s experiences at Chick-fil-A Line Creek in Peachtree City, Georgia, which they fondly referred to as “our Chick-fil-A.” He knew that the warm memories he had at that Peachtree City restaurant were not unique to him and his family, or even that restaurant — and he felt inspired to carry on a legacy of care beyond his hometown for families and community members in the Memphis area. 

“Seeing how caring and intentional people can be is comforting, especially in a restaurant environment,” Arant said. “I’m honored to be a steward of this standard of excellence in Memphis and can’t wait to grow our presence and impact in this community with our new restaurant.” 

Arant opened Chick-fil-A The Shoppes at Bartlett in 2018 and will continue to serve as Operator at the restaurant. He is excited to continue building on the relationships he has fostered with local schools in Bartlett and the greater Memphis area, in addition to providing opportunities for his leaders and Team Members as he opens Chick-fil-A Austin Peay Highway.  

Caring for the Memphis Community  
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Memphis area to aid in the fight against hunger.  

In addition, Chick-fil-A Austin Peay Highway is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Memphis area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.  

Arant’s restaurant will participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table^® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 20 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.
