Renovated Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Celebrates Reopening with $25K to Capital Area Food Bank

SILVER SPRING, Md. (March 11, 2024) – Chick-fil-A^® Tech Road Silver Spring will reopen for business on Thursday, March 14, 2024. The renovated restaurant features a newly designed dining room and kitchen to enhance the Guest and Team Member experience. Tina Oyeniya serves as the as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Tech Road Silver Spring, which has served the community for nearly 14 years.   

Located at 12289 Tech Road, Chick-fil-A Tech Road Silver Spring will be open for dine-in and carry-out from 6:30 a.m.to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.  

The Tech Road Silver Spring restaurant joins more than 90 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Washington, D.C. market.  

Locally Owned and Operated  
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.  

At Chick-fil-A Tech Road Silver Spring, Oyeniya is responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses, and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the Silver Spring community’s needs.   

After a successful 15-year career as an aerospace engineer honing her leadership and teamwork skills, Oyeniya decided to embark on a new chapter. Fueled by a passion for food, fostering connections within her community and a desire to make a positive impact, she found the perfect fit with Chick-fil-A. In 2023, she was selected to serve as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Tech Road Silver Spring following its remodel.  

Drawing from her engineering background and collaborative spirit, she will use systems and processes to empower her Team Members at Chick-fil-A Tech Road Silver Spring to achieve their goals and deliver exceptional Guest experiences. This new chapter not only allows her to share her love for food and community, but also provides the opportunity to connect with a significant Nigerian population in the area, a sentiment Oyeniya deeply cherishes, given her Nigerian heritage.  

“Giving back to the Silver Spring community by partnering with local schools and making a real difference is a driving force for me,” Oyeniya shared. “I am confident, alongside my team, that our Guests, both familiar and new, will adore the newly renovated restaurant, and I’m thrilled to build lasting relationships with them.”

In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Capital Area Food Bank, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the restaurant.  

Oyeniya’s restaurant is participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table^® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 25 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from over 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
