Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Jobs to Community, Donates $25,000 to Address Food Insecurity
WACO, Texas (April 15, 2025) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will serve the Waco community beginning Thursday, April 17, 2025. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Jake Roye as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Creekview Drive.
Located at 2417 Creekview Drive, the new restaurant will offer dine-in service from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The drive-thru and Mobile Thru will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with extended hours until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

“When my wife Shani and I first moved to Waco in 1996, the Richland Mall location had only 18 Team Members,” Roye recalls. “Now, nearly 30 years later, I'm honored to open my third location—Waco’s fifth Chick-fil-A overall—continuing my commitment to investing in Team Members and providing each with opportunities to grow.”
- Originally from Longview, Texas, Roye began his journey with Chick-fil-A in high school, starting in 1988 as a Team Member.
- His dedication to the company spanned eight years, and shortly after graduating college, he was selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Richland Mall in Waco.
Caring for the Waco Community
Roye is committed to giving back to the Waco community by:
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits and has helped to create over 35 million meals to date.
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Central Texas Food Bank, a Feeding America partner food bank.
- Roye’s passion for supporting others stems from personal experience. In 1995, he was awarded a Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ scholarship while in school—an experience that shaped his commitment to giving back. Since becoming an Operator, Chick-fil-A has awarded 89 scholarships to support Roye’s dedicated Team Members, totaling $146,000.,000.
- Recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Waco community by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
“I’m grateful for the time I spent as a Team Member when I was in high school. The local
Owner-Operator I served invested in me and changed my life at a young age. That’s exactly what I hope to do through my restaurants,” said Roye.
