Restaurant hosts Moove-In Party to celebrate opening with community
MOUNT DORA, Fla. (June 4, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Mount Dora community at its newest location on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 6:30 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Rick Powell Jr. as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Golden Groves, marking his second restaurant in the community.
To celebrate, Powell and team are inviting the community to show their spots at a Moove-In Party on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow spots can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.
Located at 19360 Highway 441, Chick-fil-A Golden Groves will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, third-party delivery, curbside and mobile pick-up. Because Chick-fil-A restaurants are designed to serve the unique needs of each community, Chick-fil-A Golden Groves will also feature a playground to serve Guests with children.

A Central Florida native, Powell began his Chick-fil-A career as a Team Member in Orlando, where he developed a passion for leadership and creating meaningful Guest experiences. Inspired by Chick-fil-A‘s commitment to outstanding service and making a positive impact in the community coupled with values that closely aligned with his own purpose, Powell pursued the path to becoming a local Owner-Operator. In 2020, he was selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Mt. Dora with a vision for serving Guests and strengthening community connections. He will continue to own and operate Chick-fil-A Mt. Dora, in addition to this new restaurant.
Powell is grateful for the opportunity to expand his impact and ability to serve with a second restaurant just down the road. Chick-fil-A Golden Groves represents an extension of Powell’s commitment to caring for Guests, supporting Team Members and serving the community he calls home.

Powell is committed to giving back to the Mount Dora community by:
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to support local hunger relief efforts of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, Inc., a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.
- Creating approximately 60 jobs.
