Restaurant hosts Moove-In Party to celebrate opening with community
COLUMBIA, S.C. (Sept. 15, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Columbia community on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026 at 6:30 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Jason MacDonald as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Lemonade Lane.
To celebrate, MacDonald and team are inviting the community to show their spots at a Moove-In Party on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow spots can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.
Located at 101 Lemonade Lane, Chick-fil-A Lemonade Lane will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, third-party delivery, mobile pick-up and Mobile Thru.

“As a University of South Carolina alum, I came to love Columbia, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to be part of this community again,” said MacDonald. “Moving back to my home state, being closer to family and opening Chick-fil-A Lemonade Lane feels like a special full-circle moment. My hope is that our restaurant brings a little extra joy to Columbia and gives people one more reason to love calling this community home.”
MacDonald’s Chick-fil-A journey began at age 15, when he joined his hometown restaurant in Anderson, South Carolina, as a Team Member. A Chick-fil-A scholarship recipient, he went on to build a lifelong career with the Company and has served as a local Owner-Operator in Utah since 2012. Now, MacDonald is bringing more than a decade of experience to Chick-fil-A Lemonade Lane as he relocates back to his home state and closer to family.

MacDonald is committed to giving back to the Columbia community by:
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to support local hunger relief efforts of Harvest Hope Food Bank a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 50 million meals nationwide to date.
- Creating approximately 120 jobs.
