Chick-fil-A Announces New Lincoln Park Restaurant, Opening April 2

Restaurant Creates Approximately 120 Jobs, Guests Invited to Dress in Cow Print on Opening Day for Free Entrée

LINCOLN PARK, Mich. (March 30, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving Guests in Lincoln Park on Thursday, April 2 at 6:30 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Detroit-native Marcel Smith to serve as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Lincoln Park.   

Located at 2060 Southfield Rd., Chick-fil-A Lincoln Park will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery, catering and Mobile Thru. Chick-fil-A Lincoln Park brings approximately 120 jobs to the community and joins more than 20 Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the Detroit market. 

To celebrate the opening, Guests are welcome to join the fun by dressing in cow print on opening day to receive a free entrée.

“Lincoln Park has always stood out to me for its close-knit spirit – this community is hardworking, family-centered with deep cultural pride and a strong sense of togetherness,” said Smith. “Opening a restaurant so close to where I grew up is a full-circle moment for me. As the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Lincoln Park, my goal is for Guests and Team Members to feel known and cared for, and for this restaurant to serve as a positive anchor for my family and the community.”

More About Smith

  • Born and raised in Detroit, Smith is a proud product of Detroit Public Schools Community District and a graduate of Houston Christian University, where he earned a degree in International Business and developed his leadership style as a student-athlete playing basketball.  
  • After college, Smith combined his passion for leadership, business and community impact, coaching youth and working as a financial advisor before being selected for the
    Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program, where he gained hands-on operational experience at restaurants nationwide, preparing him to step into his role as the local
    Owner-Operator.  
  • Now, returning home as a local Owner-Operator and guided by his philosophy to “rise by lifting others,” Smith is deeply committed to investing in the city that shaped him – creating jobs, mentoring young leaders and building a restaurant that reflects the hardworking spirit of the Detroit and Downriver community.

To celebrate the restaurant moo-ving into town, Smith and his team are inviting the community to show off their cow spots for a free entrée.  

  • On opening day, Guests dressed in cow print – whether it’s a full cow costume or a cow-spotted accessory – can enjoy one free entrée or kid’s meal* inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru. 
  • Since 1995, the Cows have been a beloved part of Chick-fil-A, encouraging humans to skip burgers and “Eat More Chikin” – and now it’s Lincoln Park’s turn to join the herd.  

Caring for the Lincoln Park Community
Smith is committed to giving back to the Lincoln Park community by:  

  • Celebrating the opening with a total $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan and Forgotten Harvest, Feeding America partner food banks, in honor of the new restaurant. 
  • Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.
