Local Owner-Operator Alex Gomez’s 28-Year Journey Comes Full Circle

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (June 25, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the
Cartersville community at its newest location on Thursday, July 2, 2026, creating approximately
140 jobs. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Alex Gomez to be the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A North Cartersville.

Located at 2000 Hwy 20, Chick-fil-A North Cartersville will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, third-party delivery, catering, and
Mobile-Thru.

Locally Owned and Operated
“Cartersville is a diverse, vibrant and welcoming community, and I’m honored to open our doors
here,” said Gomez. “My career was greatly impacted by people who believed in me and gave me opportunities to grow. My hope is that this restaurant will be a place where Team Members feel cared for, invested in and challenged to reach their full potential, the same way I was, while serving every Guest with genuine care.”

Born in Mexico and raised by his grandmother, Gomez immigrated to the U.S. as a teenager and began building his future through hard work, perseverance and education. After earning his GED, he moved to Georgia in 1998 and began working as a janitor at Town Center Mall in Kennesaw, Georgia. It was there that Gomez was introduced to Chick-fil-A and became inspired by the brand’s commitment to care and service. He spent the next 28 years working at Chick-fil-A Canton, elevating into different leadership roles and learning the ins and outs of the business while also
working to earn his college degree. He became a beloved member of the community, and the City of Canton awarded Gomez a key to the city and proclaimed May 17 as “Alex Gomez Day” in 2018.

Gomez credits Kevin Williams, local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Canton, with investing in his personal and professional development, and he hopes to create similar opportunities for the next generation of Team Members at Chick-fil-A North Cartersville.

Caring for the Cartersville Community
Gomez is committed to giving back to the Cartersville community by:

  • Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Atlanta
area to aid in the fight against hunger.
  • Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.
