Restaurant Brings Approximately 150 Jobs, Guests Invited to Dress in Cow Print on Opening Day for Free Entrée

JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. (Oct. 6, 2026) – The first Chick-fil-A® restaurant in Johnson City will begin serving Guests on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 a.m., with Chick-fil-A, Inc. selecting Danielle Cannella to serve as its local Owner-Operator.

Located at 605 Harry L Dr, Chick-fil-A Oakdale will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery and catering. The restaurant marks Chick-fil-A‘s entry into the Binghamton market, bringing the brand’s signature hospitality and approximately 150 jobs to the community.

To celebrate, Guests are invited to join the fun by dressing in cow print on opening day to receive a free entrée.

Locally Owned and Operated
“What I love most about the restaurant industry is that you never know who is going to walk through the door or the impact you might have on someone’s day,” said Cannella. “Chick-fil-A has shaped my life in so many ways – it’s where I grew from Team Member to General Manager, and where my husband and I worked alongside each other for three years. Throughout that journey, I learned that you can make a difference no matter what your name tag says. I’m excited to carry that with me as an Owner-Operator by investing in my team, serving great food and creating an experience that makes families want to come back.”

More About Cannella

  • Drawn to Johnson City’s small-town feel, Cannella and her husband saw an opportunity to put down roots and make a meaningful impact. As a local Owner-Operator, she looks forward to getting to know her Guests and neighbors, delivering Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality and making Chick-fil-A Oakdale feel like “your Chick-fil-A.”
  • Cannella participated in the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program, a 24- to 36-month program that develops emerging business leaders through hands-on experiences at Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide. Participants work alongside restaurant teams building skills in operations, team leadership and business management.

Opening Day Moove-In Party at Chick-fil-A Oakdale
To celebrate the restaurant moo-ving into town, Cannella and her team are inviting the community to show off their cow spots on opening day for a free entrée.

  • Since 1995, the Cows have been a beloved part of Chick-fil-A, encouraging humans to skip burgers and “Eat More Chikin” – and now it’s Johnson City’s turn to join the herd.
  • Guests dressed in cow print – whether it’s a full cow costume or a simple cow-spotted accessory – can enjoy one free entrée or kid’s meal* in person inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.

Caring for the Johnson City Community
Cannella is committed to giving back to the Johnson City community by:

  • Providing a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America to support the local hunger relief efforts of Foodbank of Southern Tier, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
  • Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits. The program has helped to create over 50 million meals nationwide to date.
