Led by Michigan native Kacey Engstrom
DETROIT (March 23, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Royal Oak community at its newest location on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6 a.m., creating approximately 100 jobs. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Kacey Engstrom to be the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Royal Oak, marking her second restaurant in the area.
Located at 30955 Woodward Ave., Suite 605, Chick-fil-A Royal Oak will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. offering dine-in, carry-out, third-party delivery, mobile pick-up and curbside. Because Chick-fil-A restaurants are designed to serve the unique needs of each community, Chick-fil-A Royal Oak will also feature a playground to serve Guests with children.

“Opening Chick-fil-A Royal Oak is incredibly meaningful to me,” said Engstrom. “Being located next to Corewell Hospital gives us a special opportunity to care for Guests during some of life’s biggest moments, whether they’re celebrating good news or needing comfort during a difficult day. I’m grateful to open my second restaurant and continue serving the community with compassion and care.”
Born and raised in Michigan, Engstrom’s journey with Chick-fil-A began in college, where she started as a Team Member and quickly developed a passion for hospitality. She grew through several leadership roles before joining the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program, where she traveled across the country to support restaurant openings and gain hands-on experience developing teams and leading restaurant operations.
In 2022, she returned to her home state after being selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Somerset Collection North in Troy, which she will continue to operate. Now opening her second restaurant in Royal Oak, she looks forward to expanding opportunities for her team and mentoring young women pursuing leadership.
Caring for the Royal Oak Community
Engstrom is committed to giving back to the Royal Oak community by:
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to support local hunger relief efforts of Gleaners Community Food Bank and Forgotten Harvest, with funds split evenly between the two organizations, in honor of the new restaurant.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.

Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun.
