Restaurant hosts Moove-In Party to celebrate opening with community
ROYSE CITY, Texas (June 25, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Royse City community at its first location on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Doug Knostman as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Royse City.
To celebrate, Knostman and team are inviting the community to show their spots at a Moove-In Party on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow spots can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal inside the restaurant or drive-thru.
Located at 380 W Interstate 30, Chick-fil-A Royse City will serve Guests dine-in, Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with drive-thru service available until 10:00 p.m. The restaurant will offer dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery, catering and Mobile Thru.
Locally Owned and Operated
“Royse City has a small-town feel that makes people feel known and valued, even as the community continues to grow,” said Knostman. “My family and I have deep roots here, and after spending the last decade working toward the opportunity to return to Texas, it’s incredibly meaningful to be back. We look forward to serving our Guests with care, investing in our Team Members and making a positive impact both inside and outside the restaurant.”
Knostman’s Chick-fil-A journey began in his forties, inspired by the brand’s values and S. Truett Cathy’s commitment to developing leaders. Following a career as a mechanical engineer, Knostman’s passion for coaching youth basketball showed him the parallels between great coaches and great local Owner-Operators: mastering the basics, building strong teams and inspiring people to work together. Knostman’s passion for coaching and developing others led him to Chick-fil-A in 2015, when he became the local Owner-Operator of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Ohio. Now, as he returns to the community his family called home for nearly 20 years, Knostman is excited to serve Royse City, support his Team Members and invest in the next generation of leaders.
Caring for the Royse City Community
Knostman is committed to giving back to the Royse City community by:
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to support local hunger relief efforts of North Texas Food Bank, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.
