Restaurants Create Approximately 180 Total Jobs and Donate $50K to Second Harvest Heartland
MINNEAPOLIS (Sept. 28, 2026) – Two new Chick-fil-A® restaurants will begin serving Guests in Shakopee and Stillwater this month, marking the second and third restaurant openings in Minnesota as part of the brand’s statewide expansion announcement.
To celebrate the new restaurants, Chick-fil-A, Inc. is donating a total of $50,000 ($25,000 in honor of each new restaurant) to support local hunger relief efforts through Second Harvest Heartland, a Feeding America partner food bank. The celebrations will continue on opening day with a Moove-In Party — and free food — at each restaurant! See below for details.
Chick-fil-A Shakopee
- Located at 8100 Old Carriage Ct., Chick-fil-A Shakopee will open on Oct. 8 and bring approximately 80 jobs to the community.
- Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Brad Peterson to serve as the local Owner-Operator. A
born-and-raised Minnesotan, Peterson looks forward to serving the Shakopee community.
Chick-fil-A Stillwater
- Located at 2031 Washington Ave., Chick-fil-A Stillwater will open later this month, bringing approximately 100 jobs to the community.
- Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Jake Knotek to serve as the local Owner-Operator. Knotek was born and raised in nearby River Falls and is returning to the area after serving as an award-winning Owner-Operator in Rockford, Illinois.
Both the Shakopee and Stillwater restaurants will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Each restaurant offers dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery, catering, and
Mobile Thru options and will feature an indoor playground for families to enjoy.
Opening Day Moove-In Party
To celebrate the two restaurants moo-ving into town, Peterson and Knotek are inviting their communities to show off their cow spots on their respective opening days for a free entrée.
- Since 1995, the Cows have been a beloved part of Chick-fil-A, encouraging humans to skip burgers and “Eat More Chikin”.
- Guests dressed in cow print – whether it’s a full cow costume or a simple cow-spotted accessory – can enjoy one free entrée or kid’s meal. *
Local Ownership and Community Impact
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how its restaurants serve others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are locally owned and operated by a single individual, with local Owner-Operators serving as small business owners who are invested in the growth of their restaurants and Team Members. Both Peterson and Knotek will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the businesses.
