Restaurant hosts Moove-In Party to celebrate opening with community
SOMERSET, Mass. (April 1, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Somerset community at its first location on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 6:30 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Lucas Powell as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Somerset.
To celebrate, Powell and team are inviting the community to show their spots at a Moove-In Party on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow spots can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.
Located at 578 Grand Army of the Republic Hwy, Chick-fil-A Somerset will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the drive-thru remaining open until 10:00 p.m. The restaurant will offer dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, third-party delivery, mobile pick-up and Mobile Thru.

“From the moment I started working at Chick-fil-A as a teenager, I experienced what it means to be truly cared for — and that’s something I’ve carried with me ever since,” said Powell. “Somerset is a town rich in history and pride, and it’s an honor to plant roots here. I’m committed to injecting life into others by being a positive resource for them to achieve their goals.”
Powell began his Chick-fil-A journey at 16 years old, working after school as a Team Member. The impact of servant leadership, meaningful relationships and a culture rooted in genuine care inspired him to pursue a long-term career at Chick-fil-A. Now, as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Somerset, he looks forward to leading and developing his team with the same guidance and support his local Owner-Operator once gave him. Powell’s vision is to “inject life into others” by helping Guests and Team Members feel empowered to achieve their goals.
Caring for the Somerset Community
Powell is committed to giving back to the Somerset community by:
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to support local hunger relief efforts of The Greater Boston Food Bank a Feeding America partner food bank serving the Somerset community and beyond, in honor of the new restaurant.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.
- Creating approximately 95 part- and full-time jobs.
