Restaurant adds more than 40 jobs to local economy
SHERMAN, TEXAS (Dec. 1, 2025) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Sherman community at its newest location on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025 at 6 a.m., creating approximately 40 full- and part-time jobs. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Rob Medders to be the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A South Sherman, marking his second restaurant in the community.
Located at 3350 S US Hwy 75, Chick-fil-A South Sherman will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery and catering.

Medders is committed to caring for the Sherman community by:
- Creating approximately 40 full- and part-time jobs. Chick-fil-A local Owners-Operators hire and grow top talent through hands-on training and mentoring, competitive pay and benefits, the chance to apply for scholarships to support continued education, and the flexibility to thrive in and outside of work – all within a purpose-driven, flexible environment.
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts in the greater Sherman area.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits and has helped to create over 42 million meals to date with over 2,500 restaurants participating.
Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model drives meaningful economic growth at the local level. Each restaurant is owned and operated by a single individual — a small business owner who lives in the community, creates jobs, mentors talent and reinvests directly into the local economy. Medders will work in his restaurants side by side with Team Members each day.

Medders was first introduced to Chick-fil-A through a friend who asked if he had ever considered becoming an Operator. After speaking with several local Owner-Operators to learn more about their experiences, he was inspired by the shared values that define Chick-fil-A and felt called to pursue the same path. Medders was selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Sherman in 2004 and later went on to serve as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Denison from 2022 to 2025. Today, Medders continues operating Chick-fil-A Sherman, and now—more than 20 years later—he is excited to open Chick-fil-A South Sherman, creating new opportunities to serve Guests and share Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality with the town he deeply loves.
