Restaurant celebrates with Cows Eat Free offer on opening day
HOUSTON (Oct. 30, 2025) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Houston community at its newest location on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025 at 6 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Drew Ellis to be the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Washington & Yale, marking his second restaurant in the community.
To celebrate the opening, Ellis and team are calling on the community to show their spots on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow attire can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal in the drive-thru.
Located at 3800 Washington Ave., Chick-fil-A Washington & Yale will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering drive-thru, carry-out, delivery, catering and Mobile Thru. Designed for speed and efficiency, this drive-thru-focused location offers added convenience to serve Guests through its drive-thru and a walk-up window for carry-out.

“I’ve had the pleasure of operating Chick-fil-A Sawyer Heights since 2012, and I’m honored for the opportunity to expand my footprint and continue deepening relationships in the community that has supported me over the past decade,” said Ellis. “With the opening of Chick-fil-A Washington & Yale, I’m excited to cater to the evolving needs of our Guests, while emphasizing that the speed and efficiency Guests will experience from the drive-thru focused format will not take away from our signature hospitality and care.”
Born in Baytown, Ellis worked in the oilfield industry for 10 years before beginning his path to becoming a Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operator. He was inspired to pursue the role by close friends, who were Operators and often spoke about how the company enabled them to have a meaningful impact in their communities. From that moment, Ellis knew that becoming an Operator was the perfect way to blend his desire for entrepreneurship with the backing from a brand renowned for its signature hospitality, service and generosity. Today, Ellis is thrilled to bring his second restaurant to the Sawyer Yards community, delivering the same exceptional service his Guests experience at Chick-fil-A Sawyer Heights, which he will continue to operate.

Ellis is committed to giving back to the Houston community by:
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to support local hunger relief efforts of Houston Food Bank, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.
- Creating approximately 40 jobs in the Houston community.
