New location hosts Moove-In Party to celebrate opening with community
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Sept. 24, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the West Springfield community on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Robert Hewes as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A West Springfield.
To celebrate, Hewes and team are inviting the community to show their spots at a Moove-In Party on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow spots can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal in the drive-thru or at the walk-up window.
Located at 1094 Riverdale St., Chick-fil-A West Springfield will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Designed for speed and efficiency, this drive thru-focused location offers added convenience to serve Guests through its drive-thru and a walk-up window for carry-out.
Locally Owned and Operated
“Opening Chick-fil-A West Springfield is an exciting opportunity to continue serving the Western Massachusetts community,” said Hewes. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to create new jobs, invest in our Team Members and build lasting relationships as we serve Guests and give back to the community.”
Hewes has called New England home for more than 30 years and is where he and his wife raised their four children. His connection to Chick-fil-A began as a teenager, when he worked at a restaurant in Pennsylvania for two summers and earned a Chick-fil-A scholarship. Before becoming a local Owner-Operator, he spent 16 years as a faculty member and chair of the Department of Rehabilitation and Health Sciences at Springfield College, where he developed a passion for teaching and mentorship. Today, he serves as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Chicopee, the first free-standing Chick-fil-A restaurant in New England.
Hewes looks forward to showing continued care for the community and creating leadership opportunities for Team Members across both restaurants. Outside of his professional career, he is also a nine-time Boston Marathon runner.
