Serving Hope: How Chick-fil-A Clackamas Promenade is Feeding the Community One Meal at a Time

February 19, 2026

Learn about the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program in Clackamas, Oregon. Discover how local surplus food becomes a vital protein source for neighbors in need.

For Brian Davis, the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Clackamas Promenade in Clackamas, OR, running a successful business is about more than just serving high-quality food; it is about serving the heart of the community.

“I want my restaurant to make a difference in the community that gives value and gives life to people,” says Davis.

This vision comes to life through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that bridges the gap between surplus food and local food insecurity. By partnering with the Francis Center, a nonprofit organization located just up the road whose mission is to feed and clothe those in need, Davis and his team are ensuring that prepared, surplus food reaches those who need it most rather than going to waste.

A Staple of Support
The impact of this partnership is felt daily at the Francis Center. “Our mission here, in the spirit of St. Francis, is we get freely, we give it freely,” explains Rudy Grigar, Director of the Francis Center.

For the center’s clientele, the donation is more than just a meal – it is a vital resource. “As far as proteins go, Chick-fil-A is one of our main sources of protein,” Grigar notes. “It’s a staple and our clientele really depend on it.”

Chick-fil-A Shared Table: A Recipe for Local Community Impact
Across the U.S. and Canada, more than 2,300 Restaurants participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program. To date, the program has achieved significant milestones:

  • 200 million meals have been donated to communities in need since 2020.
  • The initiative helped Chick-fil-A, Inc. achieve its goal of diverting 61 million pounds of food waste from landfills since 2020.

More Than a Byproduct
For local Owner-Operators like Davis, the program transforms daily operations into a platform for global good. Davis is a small business owner who is on-site and hands-on, tailoring his restaurant’s philanthropy to meet Clackamas’s specific needs.

“It’s a lot of fun to see that something that just happens as a byproduct of me running a restaurant makes a tangible and valuable difference [to] the world,” Davis says. “It’s amazing and I’m grateful for the program.”
