Restaurant Brings Approximately 105 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year

BAY CITY, Texas (Nov. 27, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A^® restaurant will begin serving the Bay City community on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Nick Burnside as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Bay City.   

Located at 5512 Seventh St., Chick-fil-A Bay City will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Bay City can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A^® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One^® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Bay City restaurant joins more than 125 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Houston market.   

Locally Owned and Operated  
As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.   

In Bay City, Burnside will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 105 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.   

Burnside began his Chick-fil-A career during high school in his hometown of Katy, Texas. Passionate about hospitality, Burnside pursued a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, and then joined the Chick-fil-A^® Leadership Development Program where he supported restaurant openings across the country. After participating in the program for nearly three years, he served as an Executive Director of a Chick-fil-A restaurant outside of Buffalo, New York, overseeing the day-to-day restaurant operations. As a proud Texan, Burnside is thrilled to return home to serve as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Bay City. With Burnside’s wife Sky hailing from Louise, Texas, the two are grateful to now call Bay City home.

Caring for the Bay City Community  
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Houston area to aid in the fight against hunger.   

In addition, Chick-fil-A Bay City is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Bay City area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.   

Burnside’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table^® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 23 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
