Restaurant Brings Approximately 90 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year

BLAINE, Minn. (Nov. 3, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A^® restaurant begins serving the Blaine community today, Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Alex McLaughlin as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Blaine.  

Located at 12331 Ulysses St. NE, Chick-fil-A Blaine will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Blaine can place an order for pickup, dine-in or drive-thru on the Chick-fil-A^® App or online. The new restaurant will also feature Mobile Thru, a fully dedicated lane in the drive-thru where guests can pick up orders placed on the Chick- fil-A App. When joining the Chick-fil-A One^® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Blaine restaurant joins 24 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Minneapolis-St. Paul market.   

Locally Owned and Operated  
As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.   

In Blaine, McLaughlin will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 90 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.   

Born and raised in Minnesota, McLaughlin was first introduced to Chick-fil-A at a career fair in college, where he was looking for a company that would invest in him and offer leadership development opportunities. He did not know it then, but starting as a Chick-fil-A Team Member a short time later would impact his career profoundly. After serving in various restaurant roles over six years, McLaughlin joined the Chick-fil-A^® Leadership Development Program and traveled across the country to support new restaurant openings. In 2019, McLaughlin returned to the Minneapolis area after he was selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Coon Rapids at Riverdale, which he will continue to operate in addition to Chick-fil-A Blaine.

I am passionate about creating an environment of care within my team and showing them the same support and encouragement that I’ve received from other mentors and leaders while working at Chick-fil-A, so that together we can create a remarkable experience for our Guests.”   

Caring for the Blaine Community  
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Second Harvest Heartland, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.  

In addition, Chick-fil-A Blaine is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Blaine area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.   

Alongside Chick-fil-A Coon Rapids at Riverdale, Chick-fil-A Blaine plans to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table^® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and non-profits in need. Since its participation in the program, Chick-fil-A Coon Rapids at Riverdale has donated more than 11,000 pounds of chicken to local partners in need. To date, more than 23 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
