New Restaurant Celebrates with Cows Eat Free Offer on Opening Day, $25,000 Donation to Address Food Insecurity
JOLIET, Ill. (Aug. 14, 2025) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Joliet community at its newest location on Thursday, Aug. 21, creating approximately 90 jobs. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Kris Yoder as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Larkin Ave., marking his second restaurant in the greater Chicagoland area.
To celebrate the restaurant opening, Yoder and team are calling on the community to show their spots on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Any Guest who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow attire can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.
Located at 201 S. Larkin Ave., the restaurant will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery and Mobile Thru.

Yoder attributes his path of ownership to the support of those who believed in him and helped him grow. Now, he’s committed to doing the same for others. In addition to encouraging participation in the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ Scholarships program, Yoder has established an incremental scholarship fund to support continued education for his Team Members. Since 2020, he has awarded more than $108,000 worth of scholarships to Team Members. Yoder’s vision for his second restaurant is to show more care by continuing to develop aspiring leaders, support local nonprofit partners and create a welcoming space for all.
Caring for the Joliet Community
Yoder is continuing to give back to the Joliet community by:
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 35 million meals nationwide to date.
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Northern Illinois Food Bank.
