Chick-fil-A Announces New Apex Restaurant, Opening March 18

Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year

APEX, N.C. (March 14, 2025) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Apex community at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Tony Holmes as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Peakway.

Located at 1001 South Hughes St., Chick-fil-A Peakway will be open for dine-in, carry-out and delivery from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The restaurant will also be open for drive-thru as well as Mobile Thru from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The restaurant will begin serving Guests at 11 a.m. on opening day. 

The Peakway restaurant joins more than 50 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider
Raleigh-Durham market. 

Locally Owned and Operated

Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day. 

At Chick-fil-A Peakway, Holmes will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses, and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the Apex community’s needs. 

A proud North Carolinian, Holmes has deep roots in the Apex community, growing up just six miles from his new restaurant. After spending several years in the construction industry, he sought a career that would allow him to make a positive and meaningful impact on his local community. Holmes was inspired by a local Chick-fil-A Owner-Operator who introduced him to the restaurant and set him on a path that would ultimately align his professional goals with his desire to serve others. In 1999, he was selected as the local Owner-Operator of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in nearby Chapel Hill. Five years later, his dream of opening a restaurant in Apex came true when he was selected to be the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Apex, which he will continue to operate in addition to the new restaurant. 

Making an impact on the lives of his Team Members and Guests is a mission close to Holmes’ heart, and he’s excited to expand his positive influence on the rapidly growing Apex community. 

“Apex is a special place for me and my family,” Holmes said. “My wife’s family has over 100 years of heritage here, and this community truly feels like home. Our mission has always been to make a real impact on the lives of our Team Members, many of whom come from tough backgrounds or have faced hardships throughout their lives. Our desire is to provide them with opportunities to grow and succeed, and that mission extends beyond the walls of our restaurant. Making a positive difference in our community is at the heart of everything we do.” 

Caring for the Apex Community
The Chick-fil-A business is built to add positive impact beyond profit, including giving back to local communities. Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators are empowered to support the neighborhoods they serve with a key focus on hunger, education, and specific community needs. 

In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts in the Raleigh area. The funds will be distributed between Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, two Feeding America partner food banks, in honor of the new restaurant. 

Holmes’ restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 35 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from over 2,300 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada. 

In addition, Chick-fil-A Peakway is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Apex area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
