Restaurant adds more than 80 jobs to local economy

SALINAS, Calif. (Aug. 6, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Salinas community at its newest location on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, at 6:30 a.m., creating approximately 80 full- and part-time jobs. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Jordan Chroman to be the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A South Salinas, marking his second restaurant in the Salinas community.

Located at 363 E. Market St., Chick-fil-A South Salinas will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, third-party delivery and mobile pick-up.

To celebrate the opening, Chroman and team invite the community to show their spots at a Moove-In Party on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow attire can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.

Investing in the Salinas Community
Chroman is committed to caring for the Salinas community by:

  • Creating approximately 80 full- and part-time jobs. Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators hire and grow top talent through hands-on training and mentoring, competitive pay and benefits, the chance to apply for scholarships through the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures scholarship program, and the flexibility to thrive in and outside of work — all within a purpose-driven, flexible environment.
  • Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Food Bank for Monterey County, a local Feeding America partner food bank.
  • Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits and has helped to create over 42 million meals to date with over 2,500 restaurants participating.

Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is built to have positive impact beyond profits. Each restaurant is owned and operated by a single individual — a small business owner who lives in the community, creates jobs, mentors talent and reinvests directly into the local community. Chroman will work in his restaurant side by side with Team Members each day.

“Opening a second restaurant in Salinas is an exciting milestone because it gives us the opportunity to continue building relationships across Monterey County,” said Chroman. “The support we’ve received from this community over the past five years has been incredible, and I’m grateful for the chance to continue investing in our Team Members and serving our neighbors with genuine care every day.”

Following a 30-year career in the U.S. Army, Chroman became a Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operator in 2021 when he opened Chick-fil-A North Salinas. Inspired by the opportunity to develop people and make a meaningful impact in the community, he has focused on building a strong team, investing in future leaders and creating lasting relationships with Guests across Salinas and Monterey County. As he opens Chick-fil-A South Salinas, Chroman looks forward to expanding those efforts by creating more opportunities for Team Members and continuing to make a positive impact throughout Monterey County.
