Restaurant Celebrates with Cows Eat Free Offer on Opening Day and $25,000 Donation to Address Food Insecurity

TEMPE, Ariz. (Oct. 17, 2025) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Tempe community at its newest location on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, at 6:00 a.m., creating approximately 50 jobs.
Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Brandon Barrett as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A University at Dorsey, marking his third restaurant in the community.

To celebrate the restaurant opening, Barrett and team are calling on the community to show their spots on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow attire can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal in the drive-thru or at the walk-up window.

Located at 1160 E. University Drive, Chick-fil-A University at Dorsey will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., offering drive-thru, carry-out and Mobile Thru. Designed for speed and efficiency, this drive thru-focused location offers added convenience to serve Guests through its drive-thru and a walk-up window for carry-out.

Locally Owned and Operated
“I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to serve the Tempe community for the past 20 years, helping develop the next generation of leaders while creating meaningful experiences for Guests,” said Barrett. “Chick-fil-A University at Dorsey is an exciting next step in my journey of service. The new restaurant will allow us to feed students delicious meals in between classes and help on-the-go Guests feed their families in a more convenient way, all without sacrificing any of the genuine care or hospitality
Chick-fil-A is known for.”

Chick-fil-A has always played a large role in Barrett’s life – Barrett’s father worked for Chick-fil-A, Inc. for nearly 40 years. Barrett’s own journey began when he was selected as the local Owner-Operator of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Mesa in 2005. He has served as an Operator at various restaurants in the greater Phoenix area since then and considers himself lucky to have been part of the team effort to expand Chick-fil-A’s presence and impact in the region. He will continue to operate Chick-fil-A University at Mill and Chick-fil-A Broadway at Priest alongside the new restaurant.

Caring for the Tempe Community
Barrett is committed to giving back to the Tempe community by:

  • Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Phoenix area to aid in the fight against hunger.
  • Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.
  • Expanding his impact of local giving, particularly through ongoing partnerships with local organizations including Sun Devil Athletics, Downtown Tempe, Adopt-A-Street Tempe and more. Barrett’s restaurants also fundraise for a plethora of organizations in the community to address hunger, homelessness and education.
