SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Jan. 12, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Sioux Falls community at its newest location on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at 6:30 a.m., creating approximately 100 jobs. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected John Mitchell to be the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A East Sioux Falls.
Located at 4900 E Arrowhead Parkway, Chick-fil-A East Sioux Falls will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, third-party delivery, mobile pick-up and Mobile Thru. Because Chick-fil-A restaurants are designed to serve the unique needs of each community, Chick-fil-A East Sioux Falls will also feature a play space to serve Guests with children.

“I’m grateful for the chance to open a small business and plant roots in the same place my wife grew up,” said Mitchell. “With so many friends and family in the area, Sioux Falls already feels like home, and I’m proud to bring a second locally owned Chick-fil-A to this community.”
Mitchell began his Chick-fil-A journey just one week after graduating college, intentionally starting as a Team Member in the kitchen to learn the business from the ground up. He was drawn to the opportunity for local ownership and community impact and trained under experienced Operators before joining the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program. Mitchell spent nearly two years traveling the country to help open new restaurants, gaining firsthand experience in how local Owner-Operators use their restaurants to develop aspiring leaders, create welcoming spaces and make a lasting difference.
Now, as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A East Sioux Falls, Mitchell is excited to create a warm, family-friendly restaurant on the east side of city, where Team Members can grow, families can spend time together and the restaurant can make a positive impact in the community for years to come.
Caring for the Sioux Falls Community
Mitchell is committed to giving back to the Sioux Falls community by:
- Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Sioux Falls area to aid in the fight against hunger.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.
To celebrate the restaurant opening, Mitchell and team are calling on the community to show their spots on opening day! Whether it’s a full cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, Guests of all ages are invited to join the fun. Anyone who visits the restaurant on opening day dressed in cow attire can redeem one free entrée* or kid’s meal inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.
