ATLANTA (September 1, 2026) – Hunger affects millions of people across the United States, with one in seven people in America experiencing food insecurity, according to Feeding America’s® Map the Meal Gap study. During September’s Hunger Action Month, Chick-fil-A® is expanding its ongoing efforts to help address hunger, partnering with local Chick-fil-A restaurants and nonprofit partners to help neighbors facing hunger access food in communities across the country. Chick-fil-A restaurants in select U.S. markets will host fundraisers benefiting local hunger relief partners, with Chick-fil-A, Inc. providing up to $1 million in matched donations to Feeding America.
These efforts build upon Chick-fil-A‘s ongoing commitment to helping address hunger in its communities through initiatives such as the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program and its longstanding partnership with Feeding America. Through initiatives such as the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, disaster relief efforts, Chick-fil-A’s donations to local food banks, and Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards® grants to community partners, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has helped provide the equivalent of more than 200 million meals since 2020.
“In communities across the country, people are coming together during Hunger Action Month to help ensure everyone has access to the food and resources they need to thrive. Ending hunger requires all of us, and together with Chick-fil-A, we are continuing to strengthen communities and show what’s possible when we all play our part.”
– Lisa Mann, Chief Development Officer at Feeding America
Inside the Chick-fil-A Shared Table Program
At the heart of the brand’s hunger relief efforts is the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which helps locally owned and operated Chick-fil-A restaurants donate high-quality, surplus food to nonprofit partners in their communities, which is then transformed into nourishing meals for neighbors facing hunger. Since its inception in 2012 Chick-fil-A has helped create more than 50 million meals through the program.
Inspired by a local Owner-Operator who believed that good food should go further, the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program has expanded to include more than 2,700 participating Restaurants – more than 90 percent of Chick-fil-A restaurants – who partner with more than 1,600 nonprofit organizations nationwide.
On September 30, the brand will host the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® Experience in New York City. Designed to bring the impact of the Chick-fil-A Shared Table Program to life, the immersive experience will highlight the important role communities can play in addressing hunger locally. For every visitor who attends and learns more, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate a meal to The Bowery Mission, a Chick-fil-A Shared Table program partner, inviting New Yorkers to join Chick-fil-A in caring for neighbors facing hunger.
“Feeding people is at the heart of what we do. We believe being a good neighbor means helping nourish the communities we’re privileged to serve, and using our food to help those in need is just a small way for us to give back. Through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, our local
Owner-Operators and nonprofit partners put that commitment into action every day by turning surplus food into nourishing meals. While we’re proud of the progress we’ve made together, we know addressing hunger requires continued commitment and collective action from us all.”– Andrew T. Cathy, Chief Executive Officer at Chick-fil-A, Inc.
