Restaurant Creates Approximately 110 Jobs, Guests Invited to Dress in Cow Print on Opening Day for Free Entrée

ROCHESTER, NY (Jan. 29, 2026) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving Guests in Rochester on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 6:30 a.m. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Alex Crawford to serve as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Citygate.

Located at 444 E. Henrietta Rd., Chick-fil-A Citygate will serve Guests Monday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., offering dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, delivery, catering and Mobile Thru. Chick-fil-A Citygate brings approximately 110 jobs to the community and joins five other
Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the Rochester market.

To celebrate the opening, Guests are welcome to join the fun by dressing in cow print on opening day to receive a free entrée.

Locally Owned and Operated
“As a native New Yorker, I’m proud to grow my roots in Rochester and committed to building strong partnerships that support and strengthen this community,” said Crawford. “At Chick-fil-A Citygate, our goal is to turn simple moments into joy-filled memories, and I look forward to creating a welcoming experience for every Guest who walks through our doors.”

  • Originally from Long Island, N.Y., Crawford has lived in Western New York for five years.
  • While earning his master’s degree in business, Crawford discovered Chick-fil-A and was drawn to the brand’s entrepreneurial spirit and community focus. After graduating, he spent several years in business leadership, gaining hands-on experience that deepened his passion for ownership.
  • Now, as local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Citygate, Crawford is excited to serve the Rochester community delicious food with Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality.

Cows Eat Free to Celebrate Chick-fil-A Citygate
To celebrate the restaurant moo-ving into town, cows will eat free on opening day! Crawford and his team are inviting the community to show off their cow spots on opening day for one free entrée.

  • Since 1995, the Cows have been a beloved part of Chick-fil-A, encouraging humans to skip burgers and “Eat More Chikin” – and now it’s Rochester’s turn to join the herd.
  • Guests dressed in cow print – whether it’s a full cow costume or a simple cow-spotted accessory – can enjoy one free entrée* in person inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.

Caring for the Rochester Community
Crawford is committed to giving back to the Rochester community by:

  • Celebrating the opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Rochester area to aid in the fight to end hunger.
  • Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create over 42 million meals nationwide to date.

Future Opportunities in Upstate New York
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local
Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who lead and work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.

Chick-fil-A is always looking to connect with prospective franchise candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and a CEO mindset. Learn more about franchising opportunities by visiting our Franchising page
