Expansion brings up to 600 jobs, supports food insecurity efforts in local communities
INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 19, 2026) – Chick-fil-A® is opening six new locally owned and operated restaurants across the metro Indianapolis area by the end of the year. The first
three – Chick-fil-A Kokomo, Chick-fil-A Franklin and Chick-fil-A Beech Grove – are set to open in the first quarter, followed by locations planned for Bloomington, Plainfield and South Indianapolis later in the year. This growth is expected to create up to 600 full- and part-time jobs.
Since opening its first location at Castleton Square Mall in 1980, Chick-fil-A has steadily grown its presence in Central Indiana, with each restaurant planting roots and becoming a meaningful part of its community. In 2025, Chick-fil-A Hwy 37 & 146th St opened in Noblesville, making metro Indianapolis home to 28 Chick-fil-A restaurants, many of which are led by a Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operator – a small business owner who lives in the community, works in the restaurant and invests directly into the local economy.
“At Chick-fil-A, we believe the secret to our success is our people, and that starts with the individuals leading our restaurants,” said Mandy Brantley, Senior Area Director for the Midwest Region. “Our local Owner-Operators are not just small business owners; they’re neighbors, mentors and leaders who care deeply about their communities. They’re building teams, donating surplus food to shelters and supporting causes that matter most in their communities. As we open more restaurants across Indianapolis, we’re proud to deepen our commitment to care by creating family-friendly spaces that not only bring people together but also make a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
Indianapolis-area Owner-Operators are passionate about showing care to the communities they serve through several initiatives, including:
- Addressing Food Insecurity: In celebration of each new restaurant, Chick-fil-A, Inc. donates $25,000 to Feeding America. Across the state of Indiana, Chick-fil-A has donated $525,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of partner food banks since 2020.
- Redirecting Surplus Food: Through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from its restaurants to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need, local Owner-Operators in Indiana have helped create more than 1 million meals with the number continuing to grow.
- Awarding Nonprofit Grants: Chick-fil-A, Inc. has awarded $420,000 in grants throughout the metro as a part of the True Inspiration Awards® program.
- Developing Future Leaders: As part of the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ Scholarships initiative, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has awarded more than $4 million worth of scholarships to Team Members in Indiana to support continued education. To learn more about careers at
